When switching to Juicy Chemistry Shampoo...
Points to note when you make the switch to an Organic Shampoo –
1. Since our shampoos do not contain surfactants they have a natural medium bubbly lather.
2. Oil tends to cut the lather, hence if your hair is heavily oiled, the first wash will not result in much lather. Second wash will result in a much better lather as the oil has been washed off in the first wash.
3. Hard water inhibits lather and we recommend to use soft water for better lathering and final result.
4. It can take a few washes for your scalp to adjust when switching to an organic shampoo. In the beginning, it may feel like your hair is oilier and heavier than normal. After a few washes, however, your scalp will adjust and you will find that your hair’s texture is more well-balanced with less oil at the roots and healthier, moist tips.
5. You may feel dryness and limp hair in the initial stages of you switching to an organic shampoo.
My Experience
First of all, I tried my best to include all the information from the Juicy Chemistry‘s official website and the packaging. Also there is some changes in their current formulations when you go through the ingredients list, so the results may vary.
Juicy Chemistry Fenugreek, Brahmi & Plantain Shampoo Bar‘s fragrance is mild. This product is very light brown in colour. After the hair transition, its a feel good product. Juicy Chemistry Baobab, Rosemary & Tea Tree Organic Shampoo‘s fragrance is mild. This product is very light brown in colour. Both the shampoos are expensive but if you are into organic lifestyle change, then its worth.
I have thick, long hair and wavy hair; and also I was suffering from dandruff during the shampoo review. First I tried Juicy Chemistry Fenugreek, Brahmi & Plantain Shampoo Bar. Initally, I lathered it using my hands and applied to my hair but it was difficult, so later on I wet my hair and used the bar directly onto my wet hair and rinsed it off. I felt like it did not clean my hair and it was very much greasy, heavily oiled; also since I have dandruff, I felt very bad. With every wash, heavily oiled hair started improving, I used to wash my hair alternate days as I felt my hair is very dirty. Also the water I used was hard water. And it took about a month to feel the soft hair, I used the entire soap for transition. I really felt good about the shampoo bar after the transition.
As the shampoo bar is not travel-friendly, so I bought the Baobab, Rosemary & Tea Tree Organic Shampoo. I thought there will not be transition period for the shampoo as I have already took a month for shampoo bar transition. But I went through another transition stage with shampoo as well, the entire bottle; there was water change too, So I am not able to figure out.. what went wrong.
Anyways both the shampoo and shampoo bar depends on the water you use too. So I won’t be able to repurchase it again. Going through transition every time is not good for my thick, wavy hair.
